Classroom Rules

I wanted to make this a part of the first page so everyone would be able to look for it. It will be in the parent letter under the classroom link to the right!!! But it's always good to have a refresher!!!

Rules:
1. Respect your teachers, classmates, and yourself.


2. NO profanity or bullying.

3. Be alert, attentive and active with your head up at all times.

4. Be seated and prepared to work when the bell rings.

5. Raise your hand, be recognized and get permission to speak or leave your seat.

6. Keep hands & objects to yourself.

7. No pass, no potty!

8. Homework is not an option.

Welcome to My Class!

I'm so excited for the upcoming school year! I have many activities planned to make this an exciting and successful semester! Students will be expected to study literature in the form of novels, short stories, plays, and poetry. We will also be dabbing in both creative and formal writing forms.

Why English Penguin?

Because, that's why. Well, its not the only reason. One is because of English. I've always been a lover of language, reading and writing. Now, I'm not saying other languages suck (because they don't). English is an extremely rich language because so many other beautiful languages spill into it. It allows for millions of words to be said millions of ways meaning millions of different things. I just love the way it flows and creates new and interesting situations.

I am a writer and as a writer, I am constantly looking for interesting ways to improve my work of art. I love to make words say different things, and bring the characters in my head alive. I'm not published by any means, but it allows my creativity to flow into other things.

The penguin part is simple. I love penguins!!! I've loved those waddling flightless birds since I was 7 when I did a project on them. They always dress for success, which is good for any date, and the males take care of the eggs!!! How cool is that? Penguins are also some of the most gentle and cute creatures on this planet.
